Vellichor

Vellichor
An all-natural perfume composed of 14 botanical extracts
Vellichor (neologism) The pensive nostalgia and temporality of used bookstores; the feeling evoked by the scent of old books or paper.
—> tea, tobacco, warm spice, antique wood, old paper, leather, clay earth
A fragrance for deciphering ancient manuscripts in a wood-paneled study, with a cup of hot tea and a pipe full of fine burley on the desk. Tobacco, tea, and warm spice forward, Vellichor slowly reveals the rich scent of old paper, along with gentle leather notes. A tiny touch of rose otto adds a hint of floralcy for lift and diffusion. A huge dose of mitti attar, a co-distillation of sandalwood and clay earth, grounds the perfume to the earth. This is the perfume Indiana Jones would wear if he were actually a good archeologist.
As wood-based paper decomposes, it emits a faint sweet smell caused by vanillin and benzaldehyde, among other chemicals. This fragrance honors that classic smell, and the feeling that it evokes. Extremely long lasting for a botanical perfume, bottled at EDP strength.
