I’ve recently been working with Hayet Rida to develop fragrances for her luxury candle brand, Aïya Candle Co. Our first release, Noor, was an incredible success - the initial run sold out on the first day! Crafting Noor was a collaborative process - Hayet had a very specific vision for what this candle meant to her, and I worked to craft a fragrance that would hit all of the notes we discussed. The result was Noor: “A cornucopia of citrus, tropical, and stone fruits on a bed of soft flower petals against a background of fresh air and wide-open beaches dotted with driftwood” You can purchase Noor on the Aïya Candle Co. website.

Deep Field perfumer Russell Weiss is thrilled to represent Chicago in The Peninsula Hotels’ new line of sustainable, destination-inspired guest room amenities. An industry first, this unique initiative makes The Peninsula is the first hotel group to take a truly holistic, planet-conscious approach to honor the aromatic story of each of its home cities.

This bespoke fragrance created for The Peninsula Chicago’s amenities features a lush floral bouquet – orange blossom, jasmine, rose, and ylang ylang – balanced by the essence of red apple, a fruit emblematic of the Midwestern United States. Additional hints of spiced berries and lychee reinforce the aromatic convergence of East and West.
