4oz soy-coconut wax candle - no paraffin

Conservatory is a celebration of ferns, moss, soil, and leafy, stemmy humidity. The fragrance contains a rather large dose of geosmin, the scent of petrichor and freshly turned earth.

This candle is inspired by the profound scent of fecundity that greets visitors as they enter the Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago - a world-class collection of plants under glass mere steps from my studio. I have been sketching out aromatic impressions of the conservatory’s palm house, fern room, desert house, etc. for years. The general aromatic concept - of ebullient growth, of leaves and cortex and humidity and rain and earth - is at the core of the Deep Field project. Yet this particular scent profile, in its raw form, does not make for a particularly wearable perfume. And so I am very happy to offer it to you in its appropriate medium, as a candle.
